Richard & Leslie Carmody
Dick was first certified in a PE class at the University of Washington in 1972. He didn’t dive during the 1980’s, but got interested again when our son wanted to become a diver. He did a re-certification then and is now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer through PADI. He completed his 2000th logged dive in Little Cayman in the fall of 2022. In his spare time, Dick is a Volunteer Diver for the Seattle Aquarium.
Leslie became certified after she retired. She has now been a diver for over fifteen years and over 1000+ dives, with Rescue Diver being her highest certification.
Dick and Leslie are both underwater photographers and offer instruction for travelers on our trips. We put together DVDs of photographs and videos for travelers when they return from our trips.
Dick is a retired high school mathematics teacher. He was a club volleyball coach when our daughter played, a Boy Scout Leader for our son, and served as chairman of the Boy Scout Eagle Board of Revue. He has also been a high school volleyball official for the past 36 years.
Leslie is now a retired high school teacher having taught for thirty three years. During that time she has taught physical education, health, reading, history, English, psychology, pre-algebra, algebra and geometry. She also has coached girls volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field, bowling, and advised the drill team.
We have taken our love for diving and travel to beautiful spots to start our small company – Carmody Scuba & Travel, LLC. Dick teaches lessons and Leslie (with Dick’s help) puts together trips to warm water.
We hope you can join us for your lessons and travel. If you have any other questions, please contact us via e-mail.
